On Friday 15th May we met at Penns Court to celebrate our 20th
anniversary to the day. Coffee, tea and biscuits were served when
we arrived. After a little time of socialising with members and their
ladies the champagne was served, followed by one of the founder
members Fred Taylor cutting the special cake made for the
occasion, with the Probus logo iced on the top.
Our other founding member Ken Stotesbury was unfortunately
unable to attend. The photographer from the Steyning Herald
turned up an hour late but took a number of excellent photos of the
group, together with the press release we had prepared earlier.
They were both printed in the following week's issue, thanks to
Sam Woodman.
53 people attended and included the President of Steyning &
Henfield Rotary Club, David Kinsella and his wife Edith. The Rotary
Club were our parents and then were known as Henfield and Adur
Rotary. This was our President Terry Clarke's first social event and
was deemed a great success by all.
Thanks must go to our young ladies Yvonne and Penny for helping
with the catering, served as usual with a smile.
